Spring’s Hottest Trend: Colorblocking

Yoga In HeelsYou’ve seen it in all the magazines and you’ve spent hours pinning cute outfits on Pinterest, but now you wonder if you can actually pull this trend off without looking like Rainbow Bright.

No worries, my dears, your fashion fairy is here to save the day! We are taking runway trends straight to your yoga mat here at Fashion Friday.

Here are some tips to help with your colorblocking ventures this spring:

Option 1:

Basic Bottom, Colorblock on top.

Choose two saturated tones and a basic black, white, or grey bottom. Gives you plenty of color around your face, but de-emphasize the bottom half, which is biggest on most people.

Bordeaux Tank Dress in hot pink with MPG Trek Jacket in cobalt which I paired with Zobha Ruched leggings in heather grey.

Option 2:

Choose colors from the same color family on top, with a bottom that has both colors as an accent.

Here I chose a lilac top with a fuchsia jacket while the pants have a colorblocked waistband.

RESE Activewear Perry Tank in lilac compliments the RESE Activewear Andrea jacket in Violet and add the RESE Activewear Julia Pant with lilac/violet waistband to pull the look together.

Option 3:

This is for those of you feeling very bold!

The secret here is to choose 1 neon with 2 other contrasting colors.

I chose an eggplant legging as a base, a yellow tank as another bold neutral, and an almost neon coral grandpa sweater.

ROGIANI legging in eggplant with ROGIANI yellow tank and Tonic bamboo grandpa sweater in coral to get that neon hit.

Feel bold and go with this trend. Get yourself some colored pants and hit your studio in style!
