The Old Navy Get Active Yoga Tour Comes to Atlanta!

Just after the dust settled from Wanderlust I got a tip about the Old Navy Get Active Yoga Tour coming by for a second yoga community gathering, this time in Centennial Olympic Park.

While at first I was thinking to myself, “holy moly, the event is too close to spread the word for this!” I changed my tune to, “hey, it’s free yoga–on a weekend this time!”

The tour takes place June 25, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM and requires pre-registration.

And, as the only appropriate option for a late June, outdoor yoga event, Red Hot Yoga instructors are leading classes throughout the day, with acro yoga demonstrations in between.

The Get Active Yoga Tour is a four city tour (San Fran, Chicago, Atlanta, & Boston) put together by Old Navy and Women’s Health & Men’s Health Magazines, with the idea to bring awareness to yoga as a burgeoning practice taking the mainstream beyond the standard “workout.” Old Navy now has a line of yoga clothing, and the Men’s and Women’s Health magazines now regularly feature yoga poses as stretches and parts of workouts.

With attention shifting toward healthier lifestyles, the tour picked these four cities and some of the largest park areas in each of them, to host a day where people can try yoga for free!
What’s especially cool about the Atlanta event is that there a four different styles of yoga that folks can try. Atlantans have a choice of taking a Power class (fast paced), a Sunflow class (medium paced), a Vinyasa class (evenly paced), and a special Mommy & Me class with RHY’s owner Bethany and her 2 year old son Lachlan.

All attendees will have a chance to enter a RHY raffle for a Manduka mat and some 10-class passes for their studio. Anyone can enter, as long as they attend, and Red Hot Yoga will draw a name after the last class of the day. If the winner has already left, their goodies will be held at the studio.

Register here! I can’t wait to see you June 25!
